In
order to cultivate general legal skills, raise public awareness
and to overcome the problems posed by lack of information, the KLC
has undertaken the following projects:
Street
Law Project
The
KLC initiated the Street Law project in November 2001 with the aim
of raising public awareness of the role of law, good governance
and democracy amongst society's most vulnerable groups, particularly
the community of women, prisoners, youth and minority groups.
The
main objectives of the Street Law project are:
-
To raise public awareness regarding the role of the state, to
explain the principal aspects of the domestic legal system,
human rights, good governance and democracy;
-
To increase capacity-building amongst chosen groups of the population
through the training programme;
-
To bring together the various minority communities in order
to improve the relationship between different groups of Kosovo
society, and thus contribute to the peace-building process within
Kosovo.
