Legal Studies: Article Submission Guidelines |
Dear
authors,
Kosovo
Legal Studies, the academic law review journal published by the
Kosovo Law Centre, invites the submission of unsolicited manuscripts
of articles, essays, commentaries, case notes and book reviews.
We invite authors both inside and outside Kosovo to contribute to
the body of academic literature available to Kosovo's legal community.
While
Kosovo Legal Studies will consider publication of articles from
all subject areas, we are particularly interested in examinations
of current legal issues in Kosovo, including (but not limited to):
domestic violence, trafficking of women and children, reform of
the legal education system, institutional development, international
law as applicable in Kosovo, judicial development, and issues involving
devolution and local governance.
Articles
may be submitted in English, Albanian or Serbian.
All
submissions must include the name and title of the author and full
contact information. Please also include a copy of your CV.
Kosovo
Legal Studies is divided into four sections. Please note which of
these four categories your submission falls into:
Articles
- traditional academic articles covering different branches of
law, such as constitutional, civil, criminal, administrative,
etc. that are particularly important or relevant to law in Kosovo.
Case
Notes
- short analyses of judgments handed down by the Kosovo Courts,
outlining the primary issues raised and problems related to the
given case.
Book
Reviews - of new local and internationally published books
relevant to law in Kosovo.
Forum
- articles that reach beyond the law to include political, social
and cultural developments relevant to the law and legal system
of Kosovo.
When
writing a "book review," please begin your review by providing
the full reference information of the book, including the title,
author(s), year of publication, place of publication and the publisher.
Please
ensure that your articles are no longer than 10 pages for a full
article (including footnotes), and no longer than 2 pages for case
notes (in Times New Roman, 12 pt. font).
If
you choose to divide your paper into sections, please use the following
sectional format:
Introduction ...
I. .................
A. ................
1. ................
a. ................
(...)
Conclusion .....
If
you choose to utilize abbreviations, be sure to write out the entire
name or title the first time it is used, followed by the abbreviation
in parentheses. For the remainder of the article, use the abbreviated
form.
When
quoting from another publication, use quotation marks at the beginning
and end of the quoted text ("
"). Please cite all
sources with footnotes, which include the name of the author(s),
the title (of the book, magazine, document, etc.), the publisher,
the year of publication and the page number.
All
manuscripts will be read and reviewed by KLS editorial staff. Contributions
submitted must not be under consideration by other publications
at the time of submission. The editors reserve the right to accept
or reject any articles submitted, and to make any changes thought
to be necessary or appropriate to typescripts accepted for publication.
No disks or hard copies shall be returned.
Preferably,
articles should be submitted electronically. Articles will also
be accepted by post or by hand delivery.
